Design & Detailing In Compressor

A multi national pneumatic company standardizes on AIS for 3D modeling. Our designers help them in serving their global need for design and detailing.

Client: A multinational pneumatic company
Business Model: Out sourcing with fixed charges
The Objective: Design & detailing of pneumatic equipment from the concept or data in the format of 2D drawings. Decide the 3D tool as a standard for the group of companies.

The Challenge

The manufacturer of the pneumatic equipment was evaluating 3D modeling software tools for their global computing requirements. Selection criteria were:

  • Capability of the software to fulfill their 3D modeling requirement completely
  • Ease of use of the software
  • Availability of expertise on the software
  • Availing services from vendors on continuous basis on the same platform
  • Investment for procuring the software and availing the services

The Solution

Once the requirements were understood from the customer, we devoted dedicated resources on this project. We proactively demonstrated the sample models to them and received feedback on the same. This exercise helped us in estimating the work accurately and understanding the customer domain to a great extent. As a result of which, we could demonstrate them a proper pilot which was the benchmark of our capabilities. This model of proof of competence ascertained our capability.

After successful implementation of the software we created the checklists for Design and Detailing. These checklists are the guidelines for maintaining quality in our continuous services.

The design job demanded:

  • Usage of Standard components wherever necessary ·
  • Generation of library of frequently used components ·
  • Method of coding to be followed in naming the components

The Detailing job demanded:

  • Following standards in geometric, dimensional tolerances and surface roughness
  • Consideration of the manufacturing process followed by the customer

The Bottom Line

Assigning dedicated resources was a key to winning this customer and maintaining relationship with them.
